Allyson Schieve

Allyson was a resident of Franklin Township, New Jersey and graduated with a BA in Religious Studies in 2009 and has a Master's Degree in Social and Philosophical Education from Rutgers University. She worked as the Writing Center Director at The Wardlaw-Hartridge School.

In 2015, Allyson underwent a hysterectomy and ileostomy surgery at age 29 from reoccurring cervical cancer. Allyson was born on December 15, 1985 and passed away on November 16, 2016.

"I decided, today — right now, to try to cut the anger in half. For the next twenty four hours I will not complain. Not even once. I will smile more and remember to say thank you. Especially to my husband. I will hold open doors and try to stop, to smell the roses under a foot of frozen snow. I’m not the first person to have cancer, after all."
