Can you have too many berries? We sure don't think so. These superfoods are sweet, tasty and really good for you. With spring officially in season, we’ve rounded up some of the freshest fruit to create a berry nutritious treat.

Berries taste great and may have many health benefits, including preventing and reducing symptoms of chronic disease. Grape juice accents the berry flavor in this energizing smoothie. It's sure to become one of your favorite go-to recipes.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups concord grape juice

  • 1/2 cup blueberries

  • 1/2 cup strawberries

  • 1/2 cup raspberries

  • 1/2 cup blackberries

  • 1 medium banana

  • 1 tablespoon ground flax seed

  • 1 cup ice cubes  

Preparation

Set aside a few perfect berries for garnish.   

Place all the ingredients in your blender in the order listed.

Make sure the lid to your blender is secure, then start at the lowest speed and increase to the maximum speed.

Blend for about 2 minutes or until all of the ingredients are smooth.

Pour into chilled tall glasses and garnish with the reserved berries.

Serve immediately.

**The secret to making a thick and frothy smoothie is using frozen fruit and cold juice.
