Youth Rally is a week-long summer camp for kids (age 11-17) living with congenital birth defects, chronic illness, and various traumas that affect the bowel or bladder. Campers with medical conditions are taught self-care, independence, and participate in programs that promote self-esteem.
"Every year I look forward to getting together with the friends I’ve made at Youth Rally and just being me… not the sick kid, or the tired kid, but me." – Cody Mitchem
Programming, planning, and fundraising go on all year round. Here are a few ways you can help young ostomates attend 2018 Youth Rally camp in Boulder, Colorado.
1) Set up a personal fundraising page.
Share it with family and friends so they will also know about Youth Rally and have an opportunity to donate on your page. Youth Rally is established with FirstGiving. Click here to create your own fundraising page.
2) Become a Youth Rally Community Partner.
Click here to download the Youth Rally Community Partnership Packet and learn more about the various sponsorship opportunities.
3) Use AmazonSmile every time you shop on Amazon.com.
Amazon donates a small percentage of eligible AmazonSmile purchases when you select "Youth Rally Committee" as your charitable organization and shop at smile.amazon.com.
4) Attend a fundraising event — Paint For A Cause.
Join host (and Youth Rally WOC Nurse) Rachelle Sideris for the 2nd annual Paint and Sip Fundraiser on Saturday, April 21, 2018, to support Youth Rally camper sponsorship. Have fun while supporting an amazing cause!
5) Employer matching contribution program.
If your workplace matches contributions, take advantage of the opportunity to double your contribution.
6) Recruit a new camper.
Do you know any kids ages 11-17 that would benefit from attending Youth Rally camp? Camper applications are due by June 1, 2018. Questions about the application process can be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org.
7) Sponsor a camper.
Many of our campers and families face financial hardship related to medical expenses. The Youth Rally takes pride in the fact that campers are never turned away on account of inability to cover registration and/or travel costs. People like YOU make that possible each year! Sponsorship opportunities can be found on the Youth Rally website.
"Each year I learn something new about a child, another counselor, myself, and life. Seldom does one get the opportunity to be a mentor, supporter, friend, care provider, confidante, and at the same time have the ability to make a lasting impression on another human being who has overcome similar challenges." – Paul Hastings, Youth Rally President & CEO
The next Youth Rally camp will take place at the University of Colorado campus in Boulder, Colorado from July 16-21, 2018.
