Team Ostomy United-Florida Brings Home 3 Medals At The Labor Day Triathlon

MultiRace hosted the 4th annual Labor Day Triathlon and Duathlon on September 4th, held at the beautiful Tradewinds Park in Coconut Creek, Florida. Participating in their very first triathlon, Team Ostomy United-Florida took the podium in several different events.

Ana Restrepo, Robert Seaman and Team leader Lynn Wolfson came in third for the co-ed relay.

"I formed the affiliate team, Ostomy United-Florida because I was given the gift of life and I want to live my life to the fullest and give back to the community" - Lynn Wolfson

Lynn has Hirschsprung's Disease, a congenital condition which resulted in failure of her digestive tract. She has undergone seven ostomy surgeries in her lifetime, including a colostomy at 7-years-old. She lives with a jejunal tube for feeding due to severe motility issues and malnutrition; she also has asthma.

The group representing Ostomy United at the event included many supporters, such as Lynn’s husband, daughter, and Federico Hawerkamp of Deerfield Beach who has an ileostomy due to ulcerative colitis.

The United Ostomy Associations of America (UOAA) proudly partnered with Ostomy United to provide sideline support for all the relay teams. Congrats to Lynn, Ostomy United-Florida and everyone who made this season possible!
